Camping Basics

Camping is an outdoor activity.The participants, known as campers, get away civilization in general and enjoy nature while spending one or more nights at a campsite. Camping may involve a tent, or no shelter at all. Camping became popular in the early 20th century. Campers go to national parks, publicly owned natural areas, and campgrounds. Camping is also used as a less expensive alternative for people attending large open air events such as Nascar or festivals. It defines a wide range of activities. there are survivalist campers that take little supplies with them. RV campers are equipped with electricity, heat, water, and patio furniture. Camping is usually done for some alternate activity like hiking, wall climbing, swimming, biking, boating, hunting, and fishing.Some people vacation in cabins, but is like staying at a hotel. The term camping may also be applied to those who live outdoors out of necessity or people waiting overnight for event tickets.
Campers have different levels of ability and skill, so camps are usually set up for this. Many campgrounds have fire rings, bathrooms and or shower rooms, utilities, and grills.. Campsites can also have water, sewer and electricity, along with paved areas.. Some campers use RVs that have many amenities built-in, such as air conditioning, bathroom, kitchen, shower, TV, and internet. campgrounds offer hookups where RVs or campers are supplied with electricity, water and sewer services. Some people like to live nomadicly in RVs travailing from place to place.Tent camping can be affordable when transporting equipment to a campground. Tent camping seems to be preferred by young families with kids. Tent camping sites usually are less expensive than full amenities camp sites.Mobile camping is a variety of tent camping. Backpackers use lightweight supplies. They hike across land and camp in remote areas. Backpacking equipment typically costs more than that for car camping, but still far less than an RV or trailer.Bicycle touring is another area of camping that combines camping with biking. bicycles are used to carry supplies and is the primary means of transportation. Motorcycle camping is somewhat like bike camping however, th motorcycle campers sometimes use the same equipment as backpackers because of the light weight. Camping is is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the wilderness in a pure form.Camping is used by many youth organizations to teach self-reliance and team work.Tent camping equipment may include:A tent or shelter device, sleeping bag, air mattress or sleeping pad, portable stove, lantern or flashlight, cutting tools for firewood and other tasks, Rope and tarps for clotheslines and sheltering. coolers for cold storage, and bags to put your trash in. Most of the remaining needed equipment can be found in the home, like dishes, pots and pans. Most campers prefer to buy more portable equipment designed for camping. When my family and I go camping, we enjoy the social interaction with the other campers. We have talked with some very unique people.
